Honor 7S with 5.45-inch HD+ display and Android 8.1 Oreo goes official

Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor recently doubled down in the sub-Rs 10k segment of the Indian smartphone market with the launch of the Honor 7A and 7C (first impressions). These handsets flaunted 18:9 displays and dual rear cameras. Now, the brand has gone ahead and launched yet another affordable smartphone called tje Honor 7S in the neighbouring country of Pakistan. The smartphone also comes with a tall screen in a metal-clad body.

The Honor 7S ships with a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels. The performance of the phone is driven by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 chipset, which is supplemented by PowerVR GE8100 GPU. For memory, the smartphone comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. However, the 7S is missing a fingerprint scanner, and comes with the face unlock feature instead.

Honor 7S Camera

In the camera department, the Honor 7S comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera accompanied by LED flash and PDAF. As for selfies and video calling, the smartphone offers a 5-megapixel snapper on the front. Both snappers on the handset have been accompanied by a dedicated LED flash. Out of the box, the phone boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0. Coming to the power requirements, the Honor 7S gets a 3,030mAh battery under the rear panel. As for the connectivity options, the phone supports Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, GPS, dual SIM, dedicated microSD card slot and micro-USB port. 

The Honor 7S has been priced at PKR 14,499, which is roughly Rs. 8,400. It remains to be seen if the brand launches the smartphone in other regions.
