Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth with 5.45-inch 18:9 display launched in China

Huawei recently launched three Enjoy 8 series smartphones called Enjoy 8, Enjoy 8 Plus and Enjoy 8e on its home soil, China. The former two were launched as Huawei Y7 Prime (2018) and Huawei Y9 (2018) respectively outside of China, whereas the 8e remained a China exclusive. Now, the handset maker has launched a new variant of the 8e called the Huawei 8e Youth in China.

The newest launch from the brand ships with a 5.45-inch display bearing a screen resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. There is a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6739 chipset ticking at its core. The processor has been mated to 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The internal storage can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. However, there is no fingerprint scanner on the smartphone.

In the camera department, the Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth comes with a 13-megapixel camera on the rear panel accompanied by a dual tone LED flash. The rear shooter is equipped with features like autofocus and PDAF. Coming to the front camera on the smartphone, there is a 5-megapixel shooter accompanied by a soft LED flash. The selfie camera also gets a beauty mode and ambient light detection feature. Out of the box, the Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth runs EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by a 3,020mAh battery. As for the connectivity, the phone offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, micro-USB, a 3.5mm audio jack, and GPS.

Huawei is offering the smartphone in three colour options – black, blue and gold. The smartphone is already up for pre-orders in China and will go on sale starting June 1st. The phone comes with price tag of RMB 799, which roughly converts to Rs 8,500.
