Vivo Y83 with 6.22-inch 19:9 display and MediaTek Helio P22 SoC launched in India for Rs 14,990

Just a couple of days ago, Vivo launched its latest smartphone dubbed the Vivo X21 in the Indian market. The phone arrived as a mid-range offering with a notch above the screen. Now, the company has launched the Vivo Y83 in the country as yet another smartphone a display cutout. According to the Mumbai-based independent mobile retailer Mahesh Telecom, the phone is available at its store.

The Vivo Y83 was launched in China last week as a budget offering. The phone arrived as the world’s first MediaTek Helio P22 SoC-powered smartphone. The handset gets a 6.22-inch display with a resolution of 1,520 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The device has almost none bezels on the two sides and top, and a slim chin. The processor on board has a clock speed of 2.0GHz is accompanied by 4GB of RAM. The storage capacity on board is 32GB, which can be further increased by up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card.

The camera department on the Vivo Y83 includes a 13MP rear shooter with f/2.2 aperture and a LED-flash. For selfies, there’s an 8MP selfie snapper with features like AI Makeup and customised beauty effects. Software-wise, it boots FunTouch OS 4.0 based on Android Oreo, and also features Face Unlock functionality. The handset also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The 4G LTE-enabled smartphone is fuelled by a 3,260mAh battery.

As per Mahesh Telecom, the Vivo Y83 has been priced at Rs 14,990. We expect the company to officially announce the phone’s launch in the coming days, so stay tuned.
