Xiaomi has been teasing its gala 2018 Annual Product Launch Event for a while now. The brand was expected to launch its special 8th-anniversary edition Mi 8, Mi Band 3 and MIUI 10, among others. Today, as expected, the handset maker has gone ahead and pulled curtains off its latest flagship at the event. The brand’s latest flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 8, is its first smartphone to boast a notched-up display, just like the recently launched high-end devices from many brands. 

The Xiaomi Mi 8 ships with a 6.21-inch display flaunting an 18.7:9 aspect ratio and a screen resolution of 2,248 x 1,080 pixels. The performance of the handset is handled by the high-end Snapdragon 845 processor ticking at its core. 

In the optics department, the Xiaomi Mi 8 comes with a dual-camera module at the rear panel in 12MP + 12MP setup accompanied by dual-tone LED flash. The handset has received an impressive 105 score on the camera test of DxOMark. Out of the box, the handset runs MIUI 10 based on the Android Oreo operating system.
