ASUS to launch ROG Phone with Snapdragon 845 and 8GB RAM in India in September

Taiwanese handset maker ASUS launched its first-ever gaming smartphone – ROG Phone (first impressions) at the Computex 2018. Launched under the brand’s ROG (Republic of Gamers) series, the latest smartphone goes up against Razor Phone, nubia Red Magic, and the Xiaomi Black Shark. While none of these smartphones have found their way to India, the ASUS ROG Phone is said to be heading to India soon.

If the recent reports are to be believed, the brand might launch the gaming smartphone in India sometime during September 2018. However, no other specifics were revealed by the sources about the exact time and availability of the handset. The latest revelation comes as a surprise since the smartphone is yet to go on sale in its intended markets. According to the latest report, the handset might also head to the European market at the same time.

To recap on the specs, the ROG Phone flaunts a 6-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate and 1ms pixel response time. At its core, the phone gets an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, aided by 8GB of RAM and an Adreno 630 GPU. Notably, the ROG Phone is also the fastest Snapdragon 845-powered smartphone with a clock speed of 2.96GHz. ASUS is offering the handset in two storage configurations – 128GB and 512GB. As for cameras, the phone flaunts a 12MP + 8MP rear camera module and an 8MP selfie shooter. Powering the device is a beefy 4,000mAh battery with support for ASUS HyperCharge.
