BSNL takes on Jio and Airtel by offering 4GB of data per day at just Rs 149
“BSNL is competing against the latest Rs 149 prepaid plans from Airtel and Jio with its similar new tariff”
Recently, India’s leading telco Airtel increased the data benefits of its Rs 149 plan from 28GB to 56GB per month. Soon after, the country’s emerging telecom operator Reliance Jio countered Airtel by increasing the benefits of its Rs 149 plan, which now offers 3GB of data per day for 28 days at just Rs 120 after a discount of 20 percent. Now, the state-run telecom operator BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has also introduced its new data-heavy Rs 149 plan to counter Jio and Airtel.
BSNL is now offering 4GB of data benefits per day for a period of 28 days at just Rs 149. This results in a total of 112GB of data per month at Rs 149. After doing a little math, you can see that BSNL’s new Rs 149 monthly plan is offering 1GB of data roughly at just Rs 1.30. Notably, BSNL’s new plan is just for its users looking for data benefits, as it doesn’t offer any voice calling or SMS benefits. It’s worth mentioning that BSNL hasn’t clearly mentioned if its new tariff offers the data benefits at 3G or 4G networks, with the latter being available in just Kerala for now.
BSNL’s new STV 149 plan is part of its FIFA World Cup Special data packs. The offers on this tariff are running between June 14th and July 15th. If the reports are to be believed, this plan from BSNL isn’t available in Mumbai and Delhi telecom circles.
