Idea completes VoLTE rollout across all its 4G circles in India
“Idea claims that it is the only operator to offer pan India integrated 2G, 3G, 4G, and VoLTE services”
Idea Cellular has announced that it has completed the rollout of VoLTE (voice over LTE) services all across the 4G circles where it operates in India. The brand’s latest move makes it the first telecom operator in the country to provide VoLTE services across 20 telecom circles. The company claims that with the completion of its VoLTE rollout, it is now the only telco in India to offer pan India integrated 2G, 3G, 4G, and VoLTE services.

The latest telecom circles to receive VoLTE services from Idea include Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, North East Service Area (NESA), and Jammu & Kashmir. As part of the inaugural offer, the brand is offering 30GB of free data to its subscribers. The offer is available across all 20 circles where Idea launched its VoLTE services. Idea’s subscribers making VoLTE calls for the first time will get 10GB of data, additional 10GB after providing feedback for the service after four weeks, and another 10GB after eight weeks of using the service.
According to Mr Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular said, “With the completion of the last phase of VoLTE roll out, Idea is now the only operator to offer pan India integrated 2G, 3G, 4G, and VoLTE services. Through our collaboration with ten leading device brands, which cover 75% of the smartphone market, we will cater to our growing base of VoLTE users across the country.”
Notably, while Reliance Jio kicked off commercial operations with pan-India 4G VoLTE coverage, incumbent operators like Idea, Airtel and Vodafone have been expanding their reach in the all telecom circles across India.
