Lenovo Z5 with 6.2-inch notch display and Snapdragon 636 goes official

Lenovo has been teasing its upcoming smartphone, the Z5, for a while now. The brand has been sharing sketches and teaser images of the upcoming smartphone on Weibo. Now, Lenovo has gone ahead and launched the much-anticipated smartphone in China. The newest launch from the brand flaunts a notched display, a loaded spec sheet and AI-assisted cameras as its highlights.
Speaking of the specs, the Lenovo Z5 comes with a 6.2-inch display with a notch up top and full HD+ (2,246 x 1080 pixels) screen resolution. Lenovo revealed that the phone offers a screen-to-body resolution of 90 percent as opposed to the speculated 95 percent in the past. The handset gets a 14nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor backed by Adreno 508 GPU ticking at its core. The brand is offering the newest launch in two configurations – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. For security, the smartphone offers a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Moving on to the imaging department, the Lenovo Z5 comes with a dual camera setup on the rear panel comprising a 16-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel secondary shooter accompanying it. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone offers an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with AI integration. Out of the box, the Lenovo Z5 runs the proprietary ZUI interface from the brand, based on an unspecified version of Android. Powering the handset is a 3,300mAh battery that supports up to 18W fast charging.
Lenovo is offering the handset in three hues – Black, Blue, and Aurora. As of now, the brand has not revealed the availability details of the handset. However, the phone will come with a price tag starting from RMB 1,299, which is roughly Rs 13,500. We will bring you the Indian availability and more details as and when Lenovo announces them.
