OPPO PBAM00 and PBAT00 spotted on TENAA, expected to be budget-centric A series smartphones
“The new models appear to be budget smartphones with big 6.2-inch HD+ displays”
OPPO launched the A3 smartphone with an attractive diamond cut pattern at the back with a glass-like finish in China recently. While the handset is yet to find its way out of China to other markets, the brand already seems to be working on the next in line smartphones of the A series. Recently, two smartphones with model number PBAM00 and PBAT00 were spotted on the Chinese certification website, TENAA, revealing most specs and its renders.
In the images, we can see that the smartphones will come with dual-camera modules on the back. We can also spot the volume buttons and SIM slot on the left edge, whereas the power button rests on the right spine. Moreover, the phone seems to be sporting a metal unibody design, unlike the glass build of the OPPO A3. However, we cannot deduce from the renders whether the phone sports a tall 18:9 display or a conventional screen.
And that’s where specifications listed on TENAA come into the picture, as it reveals that these new smartphones will come with a 6.2-inch 18:9 FullView display with a resolution of 1,520 x 720 pixels. There is a layer of 2.5D curved glass on top of the display for aesthetics. According to the listing, the handset might come with a 1.8GHz octa-core processor mated to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The processor is expected to be the Snapdragon 450. In the imaging department, the phone is tipped to have 13MP + 2MP rear camera and 8MP selfie shooter. The handset will boot Android 8.1 Oreo-based Color OS 5.0 and be powered by a 4,100mAh battery.
However, at this point, there is no word on the availability and pricing details of the smartphones. We will bring you more updates as and when they turn up, so stay tuned.
