Premium brand Hanmac to launch luxury smartphones in India by the end of 2018
“Hanmac hopes to sell its premium smartphones at a healthy 40 percent margin in India”
At the ongoing MWC Shanghai event, luxury smartphone and case manufacturer Hanmac spoke to 91mobiles about the brand’s plans to make a debut in India by the end of this year. The phonemaker designs outlandish smartphones which cost a pretty penny and currently, Hanmac is looking for distributors to set up shop in the subcontinent.
A smartphone manufactured by Hanmac is not for the faint of heart as it costs at least a couple thousand dollars. However, Hanmac claims that its luxurious smartphones are ‘a statement against conformism’ and that its products showcase the ‘European culture and traditional craftsmanship’. The brand currently has more than 60 stores in China and is welcoming partners to help make a name for itself in other countries. As it stands, Hanmac hopes to sell at least 1,500 devices in India, and the company hopes to appease the one percent of the population with smartphones like the Bon7 which was on showcase at MWC Shanghai.
Although the Hanmac Bon7 looks like a spaceship from the outside, the device comes equipped with specs which can be best described as archaic. To puts things into perspective, the phone comes with a 5.2-inch full HD display and is powered by an undisclosed octa-core Snapdragon processor. Upon some digging, we found that the smartphone is backed by the Qualcomm SD617 processor, which is rather old. The chipset runs alongside 4GB of RAM. For optics, the phone features 16MP and 8MP sensors on the back and the front, respectively. Lastly, the smartphone draws fuel from a beefy 3,900mAh battery and boots the two-year-old Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 with a custom skin on top.
Hanmac hopes to sell smartphones like the Bon7 in India in the future at a healthy 40 percent margin. If you’ve got an interest in quirky smartphones and $2,000 (~Rs 1,37,000) lying around, then the Bon7 just might be the phone for you. You just need to be little patient, as the brand will be launching it by the end of this year.
