Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite with notch display spotted on Singapore’s IMDA website

There have been several reports in the past showing a Xiaomi device with a notch display. The rumours were rife that this could be the upcoming Redmi 6 smartphone from the brand. However, the same smartphone has now been spotted on Singapore’s Communications Authority – IMDA. But this time around, the smartphone has been spotted with the model name Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite.

The handset spotted on the IMDA website bears the model number M1805D1SG. The notched Xiaomi device that was spotted on TENAA recently bore model numbers – M1805D1SC, M1805D1SE, and M1805D1ST. The only difference between these model numbers is the last two alphabets, where SG stands for Singapore. So, while all reports speculated the smartphone to be the next-generation Redmi phone, we now know that it’s the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite.

To recap on the rumoured specs of the smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is expected to come with a 5.84-inch screen bearing full HD+ resolution. The handset is seen flaunting a notched display, so we can aspect the taller 19:9 aspect ratio as well. In the performance department, the Mi A2 Lite is speculated to come with a 2GHz octa-core processor. The brand is expected to launch the upcoming smartphone in three configurations – 2GB + 16GB, 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. On the imaging front, the handset is expected to flaunt a dual camera module on the rear with the primary sensor being a 12MP unit. As for selfies, there is expected to be a 5MP snapper. Android 8.1 Oreo and a 3,900mAh battery complete the spec sheet.
