Xiaomi Mi A2 turns up on NCC certification, launch imminent

Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi A series smartphone, the Mi A2 has been subjected to a number of leaks, including the Geekbench spotting and retailer’s website listing. The previous leaks regarding the upcoming smartphone have left nothing to the imagination as we now have an idea about the specs sheet and alleged pricing of the handset as well. The smartphone has now been spotted on the NCC certification website, hinting at its imminent launch.
The latest listing of the smartphone doesn’t reveal anything of substance about the upcoming smartphone except for the model number M1804D2SG. Notably, the model number is identical to that of its Chinese variant – Mi 6X. Moreover, the listing reveals compliance with Taiwan’s carrier standards, hinting at the global launch. While the brand has already teased the launch of the smartphone, the actual date is not yet known. Although, the latest listing and the spotting on retailer’s website suggest that it might be soon.
According to the previous leak, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is expected to come with a 5.99-inch display bearing a full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. A Snapdragon 660 SoC mated to 4GB RAM is expected to drive the performance of the handset. Xiaomi is speculated to offer the phone in three storage configurations – 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. The smartphone is expected to be an Android One device, so we can expect it to boot stock Android out of the box. Further, the smartphone is said to flaunt a dual rear camera with a 12MP primary sensor and a 20MP camera on the front. Lastly, the smartphone is speculated to come with a 3,010mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
As for the pricing, the Mi A2 is said to cost around Rs 19,800, Rs 22,500 and Rs 25,000 for 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB respectively. We will bring you more updates as and when they turn up, so stay tuned.
