Alcatel 5V with dual cameras, Google lens, and 4,000mAh battery announced

Alcatel, today, updated its smartphone lineup with the launch of the Alcatel 5V. The phone which succeeds the firm’s previous flagship offering, the Alcatel 5, boasts a notch display design, face unlock, AI-powered dual-rear camera setup and Google Lens integration. With Google Lens, users can identify things around them by pointing their handset’s camera on them.

Coming back to the device, the Alcatel 5V comes clad in a metal body design with 6.2-inch (720X1500 p) notch display, up front. The 2.5D Dragontrail glass protects a 19:9 aspect ratio panel. At its core, the phone employs MediaTek Helio P22, aka MT6762, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. The latter can be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot.
In optics, the Alcatel 5V sports a 12-megapixel main sensor with f/2.2 aperture lens and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture lens on the rear. Dual-tone LED flash helps the sensors along with AI-scene detection, burst mode, EIS, real-time bokeh mode, HDR, and more. The phone’s front camera gets an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.8 aperture, EIS, face beautification, burst shot and fixed focus.

The Alcatel 5V runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and packs a whopping 4,000mAh battery. For biometrics, the phone includes a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock that can unlock your device in just 0.5 seconds.
Connectivity options include a single microSIM slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC, FM radio, and more. The Alcatel 5V measures 153.7×74.55×8.5mm; weighs 158grams.
The Alcatel 5V has been priced at $199 (~ Rs. 13,600) and will go for sale sometime later this year. The phone will be available in Blue and Black colour options.
