Apple’s MacBook Pro lineup gets an upgrade with latest-gen Intel processors, prices start at Rs 1,49,900

Apple has just introduced the 2018 variants of the MacBook Pro laptops. The brand’s new notebooks are available in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes, and are powered by up to six-core Intel processors. The latest MacBooks come with the third-generation butterfly keyboard, which is quieter than its predecessor. Both the new MacBook Pros are equipped with Touch Bar and Touch ID features as well. 

The Cupertino giant has also employed the Apple T2 chip in the new laptops, which was first introduced with the iMac Pro. This chip enables Hey Siri support on the MacBook Pro for the first time, apart from offering enhanced security with support for secure boot and on-the-fly encrypted storage. The latest MacBook Pro variants also feature with True Tone technology, which aims to offer a more natural viewing experience for design and editing workflows.

Coming to the specs, the 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro can be configured with quad-core Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, which offer a Turbo Boost speed of up to 4.5GHz. The notebook gets an Intel Iris Plus integrated graphics 655 with 128MB of eDRAM, and up to 2TB of SSD storage.

The 15-inch Apple NoteBook Pro on the other hand, can be equipped with six-core Intel Core i7 or i9 processors, which deliver a clock speed of up to 4.8GHz with Turbo Boost. The notebook features up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and up to 2TB of SSD storage. The machine comes with powerful Radeon Pro discrete graphics with 4GB of video memory. Apple has also introduced new leather sleeves for the MacBook Pro, which are available in Saddle Brown, Midnight Blue, and for the first time in Black.

As for the pricing, the Apple MacBook Pro’s 13-inch model is available for Rs 1,49,900, while the 15-inch variant is being offered for Rs 1,99,900. They will be available through select Apple authorised resellers across the country later this month. Apple has also announced that this fall, the MacBook Pro users will be able to update to the macOS Mojave.
