Coolpad Cool Play 7 with 5.85-inch 19:9 display and dual rear cameras gets listed, launching in China on July 30th

Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad is all set to launch its latest Cool Play series smartphone dubbed the Cool Play 7 in China. The phone will be officially launched on July 30th, but China’s e-tailer JD.com has already started taking reservations for the handset. The Cool Play 7 comes as a successor to the Cool Play 6, which was launched last year. The latest Coolpad offering sports notch-toting display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and dual rear cameras.

The Cool Play 7 sports a metal and glass sandwiched design with an oleophobic coating at both the front and rear. The phone offers a 5.85-inch HD display with a notch and a tad thick chin. Powering the handset is a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor, aided by 4GB of RAM and 64GB expandable storage. In the camera department, the Play 7 features a pair of 13-megapixel sensors at the rear with an LED flash, and its camera app is loaded with options like portrait mode and slow-mo video recording support. For selfies, the device is equipped with an 8-megapixel shooter with a handful of filters. 

The Coolpad Cool Play 7 features an AI assistant that lets open apps, make calls, set reminders, and more. Apart from a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, there’s also face unlock functionality on board for enhanced security. In terms of connectivity, the handset offers 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, FM radio, and a 3.5mm audio jack. There’s no word regarding the phone’s Android version at the moment. 

The Coolpad Cool Play 7’s pricing and availability details will be revealed on July 30th, when the brand will officially launch the handset, so stay tuned.
