Honor has been teasing a new smartphone called the Honor 9N in India for a while now and also rolled out its press invites recently. The smartphone is set to launch later today at 11:30 am. The company has announced that the launch event will be livestreamed across social media platforms as well as the brand’s YouTube channel for its fans. Since the new handset is expected to be the rebranded variant of the new Honor 9i, it is likely to come with a 5.84-inch display. The FullView display flaunts an aspect ratio of 19:9 to accommodate the notch and a full HD+ resolution. The performance of the handset will be driven by HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset backed by 4GB RAM. The 16nm chipset is also backed by the proprietary GPU Turbo System, which is claimed to improve graphics performance by up to 60 percent and reduce battery usage by 30 percent. For security, there’s a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock.

Coming to the cameras, the Honor 9N is expected to have a 13-megapixel primary sensor backed by 2-megapixel secondary camera on the rear. The camera module has been equipped with an AR lens, wide aperture mode and PDAF. For selfies, the Honor 9N will offer a 16-megapixel shooter with features like portrait mode and gender beauty mode. Out of the box, the smartphone will boot EMUI 8.0, based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Powering the device is a 3,000mAh battery.
