Mukesh Ambani-led telecom operator Reliance Jio kicked off its commercial services in September 2016. The new-comer telco disrupted India’s telecom market by offering its services for free for several months in the initial phase. Now it appears that the company is all set to take on the broadband service providers in the country by introducing its JioFiber broadband service. The brand is holding its Reliance AGM 2018 event today, where it is expected to announce the commercial launch of JioFiber.

The 41st Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) will kick off today at 11 am at Birla Matushri Sabhagar in Mumbai. Coming to the expected announcements at the event, Mukesh Ambani could commercially launch JioFiber broadband services in the country today. The company has already been testing the JioFiber FTTH (fiber-to-the-home) in select cities across India from the past few months. If the reports are to be believed, the service will offer 100mbps broadband connection, unlimited video calls and voice calls for as low as Rs 1,000. Furthermore, the rumour mill suggests that the FTTH service will also be bundled with unlimited calling through a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone as well as JioTV.

Mukesh Ambani has always surprised consumers and the industry by announcing lucrative telecom offers at the previous AGM meetings. So we can also expect that the brand could launch its new tariffs or the second-gen JioPhone (first impressions) at the event as well.
