Honor Play with Kirin 970 SoC to launch in India on August 6th, will be Amazon Exclusive

After launching the Honor 9N (first impression) in India, Huawei sub-brand Honor is gearing up to announce another smartphone on August 6th in the country. The forthcoming phone is called the Honor Play, which was made official in China last month, alongside the Honor 9i aka 9N. Today, Amazon India has shared the teaser of the handset on its portal with an Amazon Exclusive tag.

Coming to the specifications, the Honor Play is touted to come with a Kirin 970 mobile chipset and GPU Turbo technology. The latter assists the phone in delivering high graphics performance with minimal power consumption. Further, the handset is expected to feature a 6.3-inch Full HD+ notch-toting display with a 19:5:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D glass on top. It is likely to come in two variants of 4GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and boats on Android Oreo 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 out of the box.

Coming to cameras, the Honor Play features dual 16MP and 2MP sensors on the rear with LED flash and AI features like AI Scene Detection and an AI Portrait Mode. As for the selfies, it has a 16MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture lens and 2.0um pixel. Powering the handset is a 3,750mAh capacity with fast charging support. Other key features of the Honor Play include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, 7.1-channel Histen audio, and connectivity options like Hybrid Dual-SIMs, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and NFC.

The Honor Play’s India price will be announced at its launch event. In China, the handset is retailing at a starting price of Rs 20,000 approx, and is available in Black, Blue, Violet, and Red hues.
