“The Intex Indie 5 is an affordable battery-centric phone in the country”
Domestic smartphone maker Intex has unleashed its latest budget offering, the Indie 5, in India. The major highlights of the phone include massive battery support, smart keyboard, decent camera hardware, and a 2.5D Dragontail glass protecting the display.

Commenting on the launch of Indie 5, Nidhi Markanday, Director, Intex
Technologies said, “Indie 5 is a best-in-class 4G-Volte smartphone at an
affordable price, which not only has the best specs and hardware but also boasts of the indigenous SwiftKey Keyboard integration enabling our diverse consumers across the country to have the freedom and joy to express in their mother tongue. We are sure that Indie 5 will touch everyone’s heart and be a delight for the young millennials.”
The Intex Indie 5 sports an old-school design with thick bezels, capacitive navigational buttons, and no room for a fingerprint sensor. It sports a 5-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and HD (1280 x 720p) resolution. A 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor integrated with Mali-T720 GPU, and 1GB of RAM lies at its heart. The storage onboard is 16GB, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

For photography, the Intex Indie 5 offers a single 8-megapixel sensor both on the front as well as the back with LED flash to capture details even in low light. A 4,000mAh battery powers the phone, and it boots on a dated Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The Indie 5 is touted to come with SwiftKey, a smart keyboard, that lets users type in 22 different Indian languages. Other than that, the handset also integrates QR code scanning feature, Gaana app, and more.
The Intex Indie 5 has been priced in India at Rs 4,999, and it is exclusively available exclusively on Flipkart across the country. The phone comes in black and champagne colour options.
