“The MEIZU 16 and 16 Plus are expected to come with in-display fingerprint sensors”
MEIZU’s upcoming 16 and 16 Plus smartphones have been the subject of a number of leaks and reports lately. We have already seen a handful of leaked images of these devices, and their specs were also leaked earlier. Now, the upcoming MEIZU offerings have been certified by the Chinese certification agency TENAA, which have revealed their core specs and images. In addition, the company’s vice president has posted a few official renders of the upcoming MEIZU 16 series devices.
Talking about the official press renders first, the images suggest that the MEIZU 16 series smartphones will flaunt a nearly bezel-less display. The phones will not arrive with a notch above the screen, and will have a slim top and chin. The top bezel will have the selfie camera and possibly a piezoelectric speaker. At the rear, the handsets will feature a vertically aligned dual camera setup with a ring LED flash below it. The phones are expected to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Coming to the specs, as per TENAA, the MEIZU 16 could feature a 7.3mm waistline and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone is tipped to be fuelled by a 2,950mAh battery, and is rumoured to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. As for the MEIZU 16 Plus, the device is expected to sport a 7.3mm waistline, a 3,570mAh battery, and an 18:9 display. This one is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.
As for the launch date, MEIZU is all set to unveil the 16 and 16 Plus smartphones at an event in China on August 8th. We should have more details regarding these phones in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned to regular updates.
