Nokia TA-1087 and TA-1119 spotted on Russian certification website, could be Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 9

HMD Global, the Nokia brand licensee, has had an eventful year so far with the launch of the Nokia 8 Sirocco (review) and the Nokia 7 Plus (review). The brand also refreshed its budget line-up with the Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1. Now, two more smartphones have shown up on the Russian certification website, EEC with model numbers TA-1087 and TA-1119. It is being speculated that these could be the upcoming Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 9.
The speculation stems from the fact that HMD Global is not known for consistency when it comes to model numbers. However, the brand is expected to launch the Nokia 5.1 Plus and flagship Nokia 9 at the upcoming IFA 2018. Therefore, we can make a safe assumption that these new listings could be the same handsets. The Nokia 5.1 Plus was recently spotted in a TENAA listing, revealing its core specs and renders. From the looks of it, the Nokia 5.1 Plus is expected to be the second smartphone from the brand to come with a display notch after the Nokia X6.
As for the rumoured specs, the Nokia 5.1 Plus is expected to come with a 5.86-inch display bearing a resolution of 1,520 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Driving the performance will be a 2.0GHz octa-core processor mated to 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM. The smartphone is expected to come in two storage variants – 32GB and 64GB. In the imaging department, the smartphone is expected to offer a 13MP rear snapper, aided by an unknown secondary sensor and an 8MP selfie shooter. Other features are expected to be a fingerprint sensor, expandable storage up to 128GB, a 3,000mAh battery, and Android Oreo.
Coming to the Nokia 9, nothing much is known except that it may come with an under-display fingerprint scanner and upgraded camera module. We will bring you more updates as and when they turn up, stay tuned.
