Reliance Jio introduces the JioPhone 2 with a QWERTY keyboard

In July 2017, India’s new-comer telecom operator Reliance Jio introduced the country’s first 4G and VoLTE-enabled feature phone called the JioPhone. Powered by KaiOS, the budget phone is effectively free. Today, at the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL)’s 41st Annual General Meeting, Mukesh Ambani has announced the JioPhone 2, the 4G and VoLTE-equipped budget feature phone.

JioPhone 2 specs

The JioPhone 2 comes with a fresh design, including a full QWERTY keypad, which makes the messaging easier. The phone also has a four-way navigation key, along with support for the brand’s virtual assistant.

The JioPhone has been priced at Rs 2,999. However, you can purchase the phone for just Rs 501, by exchanging your old feature phone, including the first-gen JioPhone. The JioPhone 2 will be available in the country across channels starting August 15th.
