Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Android Go smartphone gets Bluetooth certification

Multiple reports recently have been suggesting that Samsung is planning to launch its first Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphone in the near future. The rumour mill suggests that the phone could be launched as the Galaxy J2 Core. We’ve already seen a handful of live images of the upcoming handset. Most recently, the device was certified by FCC in the US. Now, the phone has received yet another certification.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Bluetooth SIG

The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core has now been certified by Bluetooth SIG. The phone’s several variants have received certifications under the model numbers including SM-J260F, SM-J260M, SM-J260Y, SM-J260F_DS, SM-J260G_DS, SM-J260M_DS, and SM-J260Y_DS. These variants are expected to be intended for multiple markets like Asia, South America, and Europe. While the certification doesn’t reveal any specs of the phone, it does mention that the handset will support Bluetooth 4.2.

As per earlier reports, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core will not be running stock Android Oreo (Go edition). Instead, the handset will be coming with Go versions of Google’s official apps and Samsung’s usual user experience UX. The device is also expected to come with Android Go’s data saving and storage management features as well.

Talking about the specs, the Galaxy J2 Core is expected to sport a 5-inch Super AMOLED. The phone is said to be powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 processor, aided by 1GB of RAM. The other leaked features include 16GB of storage, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front shooter, and a 2,600mAh battery.
