Samsung Galaxy On8 with dual cameras to be launched on August 3rd

Samsung recently sent out media invites for a launch event set for August 3rd in New Delhi, India. The media invite from the handset maker reveals that the upcoming smartphone will be an entertainment beast. There are talks that this could be the new Galaxy On8 mid-range from the brand. Talks are rife that this could be the second online-exclusive smartphone from the brand after the Samsung Galaxy On6, that was launched earlier this month.

According to rumours, the Galaxy On8 is likely to come with a 6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display. While the specs of the handset are not yet known, it is expected to come with an octa-core Snapdragon processor ticking at its core. The processor is further tipped to be backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, which can be further expanded. In the imaging department, the smartphone is rumoured to flaunt a dual camera setup on the rear panel. As for the software, we can expect the handset to boot Android Oreo-based Experience UI out of the box.

Speaking of the Galaxy On6, the smartphone was the first mid-ranger with Infinity Display to be sold exclusively online. The phone ships with 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a taller aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and HD+ resolution. Driving the performance of the smartphone is a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor backed by 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, which can be further expanded. The phone offers a 13-megapixel primary camera module on the rear panel and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. It boots Android Oreo out of the box and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.

The Galaxy On6 is a Flipkart-exclusive device and comes with a price tag of Rs 14,490. Similarly, the Galaxy On8 is expected to be a Flipkart-exclusive and is likely to be priced under Rs 20,000. We will have more accurate details once the smartphone goes official, so stay tuned.
