Samsung Gear IconX wireless earbuds with Bixby assistant launched in India for Rs 13,990

Samsung recently took to stage and announced the brand new Gear IconX cord-free earbuds in India. The earphones come as the successor to the truly wireless earphones launched in 2016 by the same moniker. Key highlights of the Gear IconX include 4GB built-in storage and support for Samsung’s voice assistant Bixby, along with the ability to make calls and send messages. The earbuds also have activity tracking capabilities built into it and the IconX can automatically track a user’s runs or walks and provide insights into the workout. 

Coming to the features of the Gear IconX, the earphones ship with touch-based gestures, allowing users to switch between tracks, or play/pause the music. The earphones are backed by Samsung’s 5.8pi drivers inside each earpiece and support SSC and SBC audio codecs. Users can also change the earphone’s sound profile by tweaking the built-in equaliser and adjust the audio frequency to optimal levels by choosing from five presets of Bass Boost, Soft, Dynamic, Clear and Treble Boost.

Much like most other truly wireless earphones, the Gear IconX earbuds come packaged in a case which, as per Samsung, can charge the earphones to offer up to five hours of music streaming or seven hours of standalone music playback. Additionally, the company claims that the IconX can offer up one hour of connectivity of a ten-minute charge. Talking about connectivity, Samsung’s IconX connects to compatible devices via Bluetooth v4.2. The charging case ships with a micro USB 2.0 port for charging.

The Gear Icon X has been priced in India at Rs. 13,990. It comes in a Black colourway and is available for sale at Samsung’s Online portal, as well as Flipkart.
