Top 4 reasons why the notch-toting Honor 9N should be your next smartphone
“The Honor 9N is a budget offering with an immersive display and a stunning design”
Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor launched its latest smartphone, the Honor 9N recently. Besides the crowd’s favourite notch display, the handset brings along several interesting features like Huawei’s latest GPU Turbo technology and improved cameras. If you are wondering what makes the latest launch stand out from the crowd, we have got you covered. Read on to know why the Honor 9N should be your next purchase.
Designed to turn heads
With the glass-sandwich design fast becoming a mainstay in the smartphone industry, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Honor 9N features the same. Honor claims that the rear panel of the handset has been crafted using a 12-layered glass, which lends it a unique mirror finish. Further, the smartphone flaunts nano-scale optical coating, which not only makes it water-repellant but also easy to clean, which is an advantage considering glass back-panels get smudged easily. Most importantly, the brand is offering its latest in a number of attractive hues — Lavender Purple, Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black and Robin Egg Blue — which makes it easily stand out in a sea of similar-looking devices.
Promises an immersive viewing experience
The 9N is one of the few smartphones in the budget segment to flaunt a cut-out on the top. The phone has been equipped with a 5.84-inch display with a screen resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 pixels. The screen flaunts the taller 19:9 aspect ratio to ensure an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 79 percent. All that makes for immersive visuals while watching movies or reading eBooks. Additionally, the Honor 9N also gives the user an option to disable the notch.
Versatile cameras
The Honor 9N also comes with powerful snappers. The smartphone flaunts dual cameras on the rear panel, which comprises a 13-megapixel shooter, accompanied by a 2-megapixel secondary camera. The camera has been equipped with features like Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and bokeh mode. The brand has also made use of a 4-in-1 Light Fusion technology, which uses light signals from four adjacent pixels to capture great details even in dim lighting. For selfies, the handset offers a 16-megapixel camera with what Honor is calling an ISO-enhanced sensor for impressive low-light imaging. Interestingly enough, the front shooter also offers a smart portrait mode for keeping the subject in sharp focus with a blurred background.
Useful software features
The Honor 9N comes preinstalled with EMUI 8.0 interface based on Android 8.0 Oreo, which offers several ingenious features. First up is the Paytm Pay shortcut, which lets users make payments with just one touch. All users have to do is to assign a dedicated fingerprint to the biometric sensor and the phone will directly open Paytm’s payment section, which is really convenient. Another interesting option is the Party Mode, wherein users can connect the Honor 9N to up to six other smartphones to play a single song at the same time for creating a surround sound effect. Other interesting functionality includes a dedicated bike mode and game suite for a distraction-free gaming experience.
The 9N is slated to go on sale in India starting July 31st and will be exclusively available on Flipkart and Honor’s online store. The pricing of the phone starts at Rs 11,999, although the killer variant of the smartphone would be 4GB RAM + 64GB storage option, which will set you back by Rs 13,999.
