Vivo NEX S passes durability tests with flying colours; withstands bending, scratching and burning
“The durability tests suggest that the Vivo NEX S is a very sturdy smartphone”
Whenever a new flagship smartphone hits the market, popular YouTuber Zack from JerryRigEverything takes it through his several durability tests. The latest phone to receive the same treatment from the YouTuber is Vivo’s futuristic smartphone called the NEX S (first impressions). The source took the device through various tests including scratching, burning, and bending to find out how rugged the latest Vivo flagship really is.
Zack has revealed that the Vivo NEX S is made of glass for the rear and metal for the frame, which is capable of resisting scratches from materials such as keys and coins, even from a razor blade. The Super AMOLED display of the flagship resists scratches until Mohs level six of hardness. When burned, the screen withstood the flame for about 16 seconds, which is quite impressive. The display very quickly recovers from the flame. The source suggests that even with some scratches on the screen, the under-display fingerprint sensor of the device works perfectly fine.
Talking about the motorised pop-up selfie camera, it moves up and down from the top, whenever you need it. As per the test, the camera module doesn’t wobble and it makes a sound while opening it. When Zack pressed the pop-up camera setup, it either pops back or automatically retracts to its position, which depends on the force applied.

Moving on, in the bend test, the phone flexed a little bit, but the screen doesn’t crack and neither does the glass rear. Overall, the YouTuber suggests that Vivo has been able to launch a very sturdy smartphone with a long-lasting design.
In related news, the Vivo NEX S is all set to be launched in India on July 19th. As per the leaks, the phone will be available exclusively on Amazon India, and could be priced at Rs 48,990.
