Xiaomi launched its budget-centric selfie smartphone Redmi Y2 (review) in India last month. The smartphone then went on sale in the country on Amazon India and Xiaomi’s online store starting the second week of June. However, now the latest offering in the Y-series is available to pick from retail stores including all Mi Partners starting today. Both 3GB and 4GB variants of the handset are now available offline and can be picked up for around Rs 10,499 and Rs 13,499, respectively.

To recap on the specs of the smartphone, the Redmi Y2 comes with a 5.99-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Powering the performance of the handset is a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, aided by an Adreno 506 GPU. Xiaomi is offering the budget smartphone in two configurations – 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. In the software department, the phone boots MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo out of the box. As for security, you get a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Coming to the imaging department, the Redmi Y2 comes with a 12-megapixel primary camera, which is backed by a 5-megapixel secondary camera. The dual camera setup is accompanied by an LED flash. Xiaomi has also integrated an AI-powered portrait mode in the rear camera. As for selfies, the Redmi Y2 comes with a 16-megapixel selfie snapper with an aperture of f/2.0, an LED flash unit, AI Beauty 4.0, and Super Pixel technology. A 3,080mAh battery keeps the handset running through the course of the day. Further, the handset flaunts an all-metal premium unibody design.
