Xiaomi’s POCOPHONE F1 aka Beryllium leaked in a video, display notch in tow
“The POCOPHONE F1 is expected to be a flagship offering with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor”
Last month, Xiaomi filed an EU trademark for a new smartphone brand that goes by the name POCOPHONE. The company’s first smartphone under the new brand was also certified by NCC earlier. Most recently, leaked firmware suggested that the POCOPHONE might be heading to India in the near future. Now, a hands-on video of the upcoming POCOPHONE smartphone has been leaked on the interwebs, which has revealed a few interesting tidbits about the device.
As per the leaked video, the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone with the model number M1805E10A could be dubbed the POCOPHONE F1. The ‘About Phone’ section of the device suggests that the handset is codenamed “Beryllium”. In addition, the hands-on video indicates that the phone will come with an octa-core 2.8GHz processor, which is expected to be the Snapdragon 845. The handset is expected to come with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
Talking about the design, the video reveals that the POCOPHONE F1 (Beryllium) could feature a nearly bezel-less display with a notch above the screen. The notch of the handset appears to be the same size as the one on the Mi 8, but it’s not clear if the POCOPHONE will also get the 3D face unlock system as the latter. At the rear, the device is expected to feature a vertically aligned dual camera setup.
According to the earlier leaks, the POCOPHONE F1 could arrive with an LCD display and a 4,000mAh battery. The other tipped specs include non-expandable storage, a fingerprint sensor, optical zoom functionality, and NFC. As of now, it’s not clear when exactly Xiaomi is planning to launch the device at the moment.
