Xiaomi’s POCOPHONE F1 receives BIS certification in India

Xiaomi’s upcoming new brand of smartphones, POCOPHONE has been doing the rounds of the interwebs quite a bit lately. The first smartphone in the series – POCOPHONE F1 has been leaked several times in the past including the alleged pricing and Bluetooth SIG certification. In the past, a leaked firmware of the smartphone hinted that the upcoming smartphone might get an Indian launch. Now, the rumour has been confirmed as the POCOPHONE F1 has been spotted on the BIS certification website.

The BIS listing of the handset doesn’t reveal much except for the model number M1805E10A. However, according to the past rumours, the POCOPHONE F1 is tipped to be powered by the top-end Snapdragon 845 chipset backed by 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. Further, the speculations suggest that the handset will feature a liquid cooling system to enhance the overall performance. The upcoming phone is expected to come with a 5.99-inch notched display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels.

In the imaging department, the handset is said to feature dual 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel rear camera setup and a 20-megapixel front shooter. The selfie camera is rumoured to be backed by Xiaomi’s Super Pixel technology, which uses light signals from four pixels to deliver better images in low-light conditions. Further, the POCOPHONE F1 is said to feature AI-based face unlock system backed by an infrared illuminator on the front. As for the software, the smartphone is expected to boot MIUI 10 based on Android Oreo. While the battery specs of the phone are not known yet, it is expected to flaunt a massive cell.

A previous report has suggested that the POCOPHONE will come with a starting price of Rs 34,000. However, there is no word on the availability of the handset of now. We will bring you more details as and when they emerge, so stay tuned.
