Xiaomi’s POCOPHONE F1 with Snapdragon 845 SoC gets Bluetooth certification

Several reports in the past couple of weeks have indicated that Xiaomi is planning to launch a new smartphone brand called POCOPHONE. Ahead of the launch, the first handset from the new brand, the POCOPHONE F1, has already been leaked several times. Most recently, a leakster revealed the alleged pricing of the device. Now, the phone has been certified by Bluetooth SIG, which has revealed a few details regarding its features.

As per the design description of the POCOPHONE F1, the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The device is said to feature a liquid cooling system, which will offer extremely fast processing power at a sustained peak performance. The description also mentions that the handset could sport a dual 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel rear camera setup and a 20-megapixel front shooter.

The selfie camera is also said to offer Super Pixel technology, which combines four pixels into one large pixel to deliver better images in low-light conditions. In addition, the phone is said to feature an infrared illuminator on the front for AI-based face unlock functionality. Lastly, the certification indicates that the handset will run MIUI 10 out of the box.

According to the earlier reports, the POCOPHONE F1 could come with a 5.99-inch notched display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. The phone is said to offer 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The device is rumoured to be fuelled by a massive battery and boot Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

If the reports are to be believed, the POCOPHONE F1 will be available at the starting price of around Rs 34,000. If this is true, the device will be one of the most affordable offerings with a Snapdragon 845 SoC. Sadly, as of now, it’s not clear when the brand is planning to launch the phone.
