BlackBerry KEY2 LE with Snapdragon 636 SoC and QWERTY keypad expected to launch at IFA 2018

BlackBerry is hosting an event on August 30th at the IFA 2018 tech trade show in Berlin, Germany. The Canadian enterprise has shared a ‘Save the Date’ invite; however, it didn’t mention what the event is for. There are rumours that the brand might announce a new smartphone called the BlackBerry Key2 LE. The handset recently featured in leaks, revealing its key specifications and features. It is said to be a trimmed down version of the KEY2 (review) that was launched last month in India.

As per the leaks, the BlackBerry KEY2 LE could feature QWERTY Keypad and a rugged design, just like its elder sibling. Moreover, it may borrow some of the features of the KEY2, including a front-mounted fingerprint sensor underneath the space bar and shortcut buttons.

As for the specifications, the KEY2 LE is likely to house an octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/ 64GB storage option under the hood. The display is expected to flaunt a 4.5-inch Full HD+ display with 1620 x 1080 pixels resolution. For shutterbugs, the KEY2 LE could boast a dual-rear camera set up, consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Its front camera sensor details are unknown as of now. Powering the handset could be a non-removable 3,000mAh battery.
