Last month, India’s emerging telecom operator Reliance Jio introduced its latest 4G-enabled feature phone called the JioPhone 2. At the same event, the company announced that it will be offering the first-gen JioPhone (first impressions) with an exchange offer till July 31st. However, 91mobiles has now learned from its retail sources that the telco has extended the JioPhone’s exchange offer till August 15th.

As per our sources, the terms and conditions of the Reliance JioPhone exchange offer remain unchanged. You can exchange your old feature phone for the JioPhone by shelling out just Rs 501. Notably, this amount will be refundable to you after three years, which makes your purchase effectively free.

Talking about the conditions of the phone being exchanged, Jio will not accept a JioPhone or a feature phone that’s still on contract with another telecom operator. In addition, apart from exchanging your old feature phone for a JioPhone, you will also need to provide the charger and battery for the handset. However, no other things like the packaging, earphones, etc. are needed for the exchange.

It’s worth mentioning that to get the cashback of Rs 501 as part of the JioPhone exchange offer, users will need to make a minimum recharge of Rs 99 every month for six months. This pack delivers you 512MB of data and unlimited calls across the country for 28 days, apart from 300 SMSes and access to Jio’s premium app suite.
