JioPhone 2 goes on sale from August 16th, priced at Rs 2,999
“The JioPhone 2 sports a QWERTY keyboard and WhatsApp support”
Last month, at RIL’s 41st Annual General Meeting, Mukesh Ambani announced the successor to the JioPhone (first impressions) in the form of the JioPhone 2. The brand’s latest 4G LTE-enabled feature phone offering flaunts a new design with a full QWERTY keyboard. At the event, the company said that the new phone will be available across channels in the country starting August 15th. However, there’s been some change in the vendor’s plans for the sale of the new JioPhone.
Today, Reliance Jio has announced that the JioPhone 2 will be available via flash sale on the company’s website starting on August 16th at 12 pm. The latest JioPhone will be up for grabs for Rs 2,999. As of now, there’s no word regarding the launch features of the JioPhone 2. So it’s not clear if there will be an exchange offer for the latest Jio feature phone. In addition, the brand has also announced that the WhatsApp will not be available anytime soon on the first-gen JioPhone.

To recap, the JioPhone 2 offers a fresh design, which makes messaging easier. Powered by KaiOS, the phone is said to come pre-loaded with WhatsApp, Facebook, and YouTube apps. The users can enjoy content from a host of apps like JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic, and JioChat on the handset. The other features include a 2.4-inch screen, 4GB of expandable storage, 2MP/VGA cameras, NFC, and a 2,000mAh battery.
