Chinese brand Honor has finally launched the much-anticipated Note 10 smartphone in China yesterday. The smartphone has arrived after two years under development, as per the brand. The first thing that you notice about the Honor Note 10 is the gargantuan 6.95-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The sleek borders and taller aspect ratio of the display make for an immersive viewing. The support for HDR10 content acts like a cherry on top. According to the brand, the display quality has been improved by 20 percent, thanks to AI which promises to fill up the screen with “smart pixels”.

Further, the handset comes with dual speakers on the top and bottom edge, offering Dolby Audio for a stereo audio output. Combined with a large display, the Honor Note 10 is surely a multimedia lover’s delight.

Honor’s Note 10 comes with the top-of-the-line HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset ticking at its core. The chipset is aided with 4GB / 6GB / 8GB of RAM with 64GB / 128GB storage onboard. The phone also features the brand’s GPU Turbo technology, which is designed to deliver 60 percent enhanced performance and 30 percent lesser power consumption. Another interesting feature that Note 10 flaunts is the new CPU Turbo technology with a dedicated physical button for the same. While the company has not clarified what the button does exactly, it’s said to overclock the CPU and clean background processes to offer improved performance, that can prove to be useful while live streaming or recording a gameplay.

The Note 10 also comes with an internal liquid cooling system, which the brand is calling “The Nine Liquid Cooling Technology“. According to the brand, the cooling tech regulates the temperature and keep it up to 10 degrees cooler when compared to other smartphones. 

Powerful cameras at the rear and front

Honor has been making quite a name for itself when it comes to mobile photography and the Note 10 carries forward the legacy. The smartphone comes with a 24-megapixel camera accompanied by a secondary 16-megapixel snapper with LED flash. The brand has utilised the onboard NPU to enable AI capabilities like scene detection. The camera also comes with AIS, which stands for Artificial Intelligence Image Stabilisation to enable blur-free images and videos. The front camera is a 13MP unit, which also comes with the aforementioned AI modes and also doubles up as the face unlock module with an Infrared sensor placed beside it. The CPU Turbo button, mentioned above, can also be used as a shutter button while using the camera app.

A battery that refuses to die

With a massive display and a loaded hardware, one would want the handset to have a powerful battery to power the entire package. The Note 10 doesn’t disappoint in this respect as it comes equipped with a beefy 5,000mAh battery with support for Huawei’s proprietary SuperCharge technology. According to the brand, the battery can deliver 17.5 hours of continuous video playback on a full charge.

The Honor Note 10 costs RMB 2,799 (~Rs 28,000) for the 4GB RAM variant, RMB 3,199 (~Rs 32,000) for the 6GB RAM version and RMB 3,599 (~Rs 36,000) for the 8GB model.
