Airtel Rs 289 prepaid plan with free voice calling and 1GB data for 48 days goes official

“The new Rs 289 recharge plan comes with unlimited calls benefits with no fair usage policy”

Bharti Airtel has rolled out a new prepaid plan of Rs 289 for its subscribers in India. The recharge offer is applicable across the country starting today. Under the scheme, the telco is offering unlimited calls to any network, both local and STD, free 100 SMSes per day, and a total of 48GB of 2G/ 3G/ 4G data. The recharge has a validity of 48 days, and the data benefit it offers is limited to 1GB per day.

The plan doesn’t seem to be very lucrative, but it offers truly unlimited calls with no fair usage policy, unlike its competitors. A case in point is Idea cellular’s Rs 295 tariff plan that has free call benefit up to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. However, on the bright side, the plan packs 5GB of 3G/ 4G data benefit per day. The validity of this Idea cellular plan is 42-days.

In related news, Airtel recently launched three new prepaid plans of Rs 198, Rs 296, and Rs 446 for its customers who travel abroad a lot. The schemes provide free talk time up to 75-minutes to make short calls overseas without the hassle of buying local SIM cards.
