Garmin Fenix 5X Plus smartwatch with GPS support launched for Rs 79,990

Following the launch of the Vivoactive 3 smartwatch last month, Garmin has announced a new wearable in India called the Fenix 5X Plus. The premium smartwatch comes with ‘Pulse OX’ sensor that can track blood oxygen saturation at higher altitudes from the wearer’s wrist. Additionally, it can store music on its built-in storage and track location with GPS / GLONASS. 

Talking about its features, the Garmin Fenix 5X Plus can track your fitness regime and send notifications to your smartphone with Bluetooth connectivity. Your work-out stats are said to be automatically uploaded to Garmin Connect app from where you can also monitor the device and add a personalised touch. The wearable also comes with Wrist-based Heart rate feature. 

As for the battery, the company claims that the watch can offer a backup of up to 18 days in the smartwatch mode, 30 hours with GPS enabled and 11 hours with both GPS and music switched on. Moreover, you can use the UltraTrac power saver mode to extend the battery life up to 64 hours. 

At the design front, the Garmin Fenix 5X Plus is touted to come with a scratch-resistant sapphire lens fitted atop the company’s “Chroma Display” that features LED backlighting for better “readability”.

“Garmin has launched this intelligent smartwatch with maps, music and payment features, keeping in mind the needs of the adventurers who engage in long stretched activities. When using the smartwatch users can travel light, the features in the watch bring convenience and fun to the user activities to make them memorable,” said Ali Rizvi, National Sales Manager, Garmin India.

The Garmin Fenix 5X Plus is priced in India at Rs 79,990. It’s available for purchase at the brand’s web store as well as Paytm Mall, Amazon and Flipkart. Offline buyers can grab the wearable from the likes of Chroma, Reliance Digital, and Helios-The Watch Store.
