HMD Global rolls out teaser of a new phone; could be Nokia X7
“The Nokia X7 to come with 19:9 aspect ratio display and cameras as one of its biggest USP”
HMD Global, the home of Nokia smartphones, has already announced a slew of handsets in the current financial year. Most recently, the company launched the Nokia X5 and Nokia X6 as the 5.1 Plus (first impression) and 6.1 Plus respectively, in India. Now it seems like a new Nokia smartphone is on the cards, as HMD Global has shared a teaser for a device in Taiwan. While the name of the handset hasn’t been revealed yet, speculations suggest the phone could be the Nokia X7.

From what we can make out from the teaser, the upcoming Nokia smartphone will have a tall display. As of now, it’s not clear that the handset will feature a notch atop the screen, like the one found on the Nokia X5 and X6. However, the brand did reveal that the phone will definitely have a 19:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, the image shows the camera of the alleged Nokia X7 in action, which suggests that the phone could be a camera-centric offering. Apart from this, there’s nothing we know about the other details regarding the features of the upcoming Nokia smartphone.

In related news, the Finland firm is working on a new smartphone, allegedly called the Nokia 9. It is rumoured to be a flagship offering with the Snapdragon 845 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. Most recently, a purported live image of the handset was leaked on the interwebs. If the photo is to be believed, the Nokia 9 could be the world’s first smartphone to boast a penta-camera setup at the rear.
Nokia hasn’t yet announced a launch date for the Nokia 9. However, since the phone has already been leaked multiple times, we can expect it to be released in the near future, so watch this space for more details.
