Honor Play 6GB RAM variant goes on open sale via Amazon

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has announced that its mid-range smartphone, the Honor Play (review) will now be available for open sale exclusively on Amazon India. Notably, only the 6GB RAM variant of the handset will be available in the open sale, while the base 4GB model will continue to retail via the weekly flash sale. The Honor Play has been priced at Rs 19,999 for the base variant, and Rs 23,999 for the top-end 6GB option.

To recap, the Honor Play was announced last month in India. It’s the first smartphone in the country to come with GPU Turbo technology, which is said to offer better gaming performance. The handset is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset, aided by 64GB/ 128GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The fascia of the device boasts a 6.3-inch full HD+ display with a notch up top and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

On the camera front, the Honor Play dual rear cameras boasts a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor, coupled with an LED flash and PDAF. On the front, it features a 16-megapixel shooter with a f/2.0 aperture lens. There is a 3,750mAh battery onboard, and the handset runs the Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 interface. The connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
