Leaked OnePlus 6T render reveals handset will not feature triple rear cameras

OnePlus is expected to unveil its next-gen flagship smartphone called the OnePlus 6T at an event on October 17th. Ahead of the unveiling, we have already seen a number of leaked photos and renders of the upcoming smartphone. So far, the leaked images have suggested that the OnePlus 6T could arrive with a triple camera system at the rear. However, a freshly leaked render of the smartphone indicates otherwise.

The popular gadget tipster Roland Quandt has released a purported render of the back of the OnePlus 6T. The photo suggests that the phone will continue to offer a dual primary camera module at the rear, just like its predecessor, the OnePlus 6 (review). The latest leak could disappoint OnePlus fans waiting for the arrival of triple cameras at the back of the brand’s next-gen offering. The leaked photo also suggests that the OnePlus 6T could offer a glass back panel and a dual-tone LED flash. A relocated power button is also visible in the latest leaked image. The tipster has also released the official logo of the upcoming OnePlus offering.

A fingerprint sensor is missing in the OnePlus 6T render, which indicates that the smartphone could arrive with an in-display fingerprint scanner. As per the earlier reports, the handset could arrive with a screen with a waterdrop notch. The device is expected to offer a 6.41-inch display bearing an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a resolution of 2,340×1,080 pixels. The handset could offer a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.

As for the other features, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei revealed that the OnePlus 6T will not feature a 3.5mm headphone socket. Instead, the smartphone will transmit audio through a USB Type-C charging port. Pei said that by removing the headphone jack, the brand will be able to free up more space within the smartphone, and use that to include some advanced tech into the device.
