OPPO’s budget smartphone, the A71 (first impression) — announced earlier this year, has received a price cut in India. The handset will now retail at Rs 8,990 — Rs 1,000 less than its initial price of Rs 9,990. Notably, the price change is for offline purchases – online, the A71 continues to retail at the original price.

As for the specifications, there is no change on that front. To recap, the OPPO A71 sports a 5.2-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. The panel features Display temperature adjustment and Night Shield to reduce eye fatigue. Further, the handset is powered by 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 450 SoC, backed by 3GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage, which is further expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card slot.

For photography, the OPPO A71 flaunts a single 13-megapixel sensor on the rear panel with LED flash, and for selfies it gets a 5-megapixel shooter with an AI Beautification feature on the front. The front camera comes with a Depth effect mode for bokeh shots. The handset boots 2016’s Android 7.1 Nougat OS out of the box with OPPO’s ColorOS skin applied on top. A 3,000mAh battery sums up the specs sheet. The smartphone can be purchased in two hues of Gold and Black.
