“The POCO F1 is the cheapest Snapdragon 845 SoC smartphone out there”

Last week, Xiaomi-backed POCO launched its first smartphone in India, called the POCO F1 (review). The handset went on sale in the country last month, with its base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage costing Rs 20,999, followed by Rs 23,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant and Rs 28,990 for the top-end 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model. Today, the company is hosting the latest flash sale of the smartphone in the country. You can buy the POCO F1 exclusively from Flipkart and Mi.com with a cashback offer of Rs 1,000 on HDFC debit and credit cards.

Coming to the specifications, the POCO F1 comes with a liquid cooling system — aimed to keep the thermals of the handset under check during intense usage. It flaunts an 18:9 aspect ratio 6.18-inch Full HD+ IPS display with a notch up top and a slight amount of bezel at the bottom. The metal-plastic rear panel of the handset features centre-aligned dual cameras and a fingerprint sensor. For photography, it employs a combination of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors with LED flash on the rear and a 20-megapixel camera on the front.

Software-wise, the POCO F1 comes pre-loaded with Android Oreo with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 custom skin employed on top. Other features include dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE support, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, and A-GPS with GLONASS. A beefy 4,000mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology rounds up the specs sheet.

The POCO F1 comes in two colour options of blue and graphite black. There’s also an Armoured Edition of the handset with Kevlar back, but it’s limited to the top-end 8GB RAM variant.
