Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 and Redmi 6 Plus display panels spotted on e-commerce site

Xiaomi was recently in news for the launch of its latest Redmi-series smartphones in India. The brand introduced the Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 (first impression) and Redmi 6 Pro (review) devices with the latter being its first with a notched display. Now, it seems like Xiaomi quickly wants to double its tally with the launch of the Redmi Note 6 and Redmi 6 Plus smartphones. The alleged display assembly of both the handsets has been spotted on the online retail store — AliExpress, with an iPhone X-like notch.

The display assembly available for purchase prior to the smartphone gives us a close look at what is coming from Xiaomi in the near future. Notably, the listing showed that the Redmi Note 6 screen has a smaller notch compared to the Redmi 6 Plus. While the Note 6 has three cut-outs on the notch for the sensor, earpiece, and front-facing camera, the Redmi 6 Plus seems to have five cut-outs in total — two could be for the dual front cameras, one each for the sensors, earpiece and LED flash.

The retail website further reveals the Redmi 6 Plus screen size to be 5.99-inches tall and a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. The Redmi Note 6, on the other hand, is said to sport a 6.18-inch display with 2,246 x 1080 pixel resolution. 

Apart from this, there’s nothing we know about the smartphones as of now. Moreover, Xiaomi is yet to confirm if and when it’s planning to launch the Redmi Note 6 and Redmi 6 Plus. We’ll bring you more updates about the devices as and when it’s there, so watch this space.
