Beta testing of Android 9 Pie for Nokia 6.1 Plus stands completed as beta testers receive emails from HMD Global, thanking them for their feedback and support. The full transcript reads: “Many thanks for being part of the Android 9 Pie Nokia phones beta labs program with your Nokia 6.1 Plus. Thanks to your valuable feedback, the official release will soon be ready and available to millions of users. Once Android 9 is approved by your operator, it will be automatically pushed to you via OTA.”

This comes just days after HMD Global started rolling out the Digital Wellbeing feature to Android 9 Pie beta build for Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphones. Similar to the Screentime feature in Apple’s iOS, it basically helps you in monitoring and limiting your smartphone usage by setting a pre-set usage time limit for apps, etc.

Android 9 Pie brings in a lot of firsts to Android users in terms of the new gesture based navigation, app actions and slices, which further enhances user experience by letting you complete certain tasks faster. Other important ones include better control over notifications, a selectable dark mode, improved security features and easier text selection among others.

Then there’re a few automated features including adaptive battery and brightness that adjust your system in accordance with the apps you use and volume and sound improvements, which make your smartphone capable of having five Bluetooth connections simultaneously and remembering the volume setting for each.
