Last week, ASUS announced two budget smartphones dubbed as the ZenFone Max (M1) and ZenFone Lite (L1) in India. Today, the handsets (first impression) go for sale for the first time in the country via the e-commerce site, Flipkart, as part of the Festive Dhamaka Days sale. Buyers will have to wait for the clock to strike 12pm in order to partake in a flash sale to purchase the ZenFone Max (M1) or ZenFone Lite (L1). Both the budget-oriented smartphones from the Taiwanese phonemaker offer a full vision 18:9 aspect ratio display and a beefy battery for a long lasting backup.

The ZenFone Max (M1) India price in India is set at Rs 7,499, whereas the ZenFone Lite (L1) costs Rs 5,999. ASUS says these are discounted prices for the ongoing festive season, but has not revealed how much the two will cost once the season is over. The two smartphones come in one configuration each, and are available in two shades: Black and Gold. As for the launch offers, the devices can be purchased from Flipkart with a cashback of Rs 2,200 and 50GB additional data for Jio users and mobile protection with an additional cost of Rs 99.

ASUS ZenFone Max (M1), Lite (L1) specifications

Starting with the ZenFone Max (M1), the phone sports a 5.45-inch display with HD+ resolution. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 SoC, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB expandable storage up to 256GB. For photography, it features a 13-megapixel sensor on the rear camera with f/2.0 aperture lens and LED flash and an 8MP sensor on the front. The handset houses a whopping 4,000mAh battery with 10W charger to keep the show running. For security, the ZenFone Max (M1) boasts of a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature.

Moving on to the ZenFone Max (L1), it comes with the same 5.45-inch display and chipset. However, the Snapdragon 439 SoC here is mated with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be further expandable via microSD card. In optics, it flaunts a 13-megapixel sensor on the rear and a 5MP shooter on the front with LED flash at both fronts. The battery on the device is a 3,000mAh cell, which is 1,000mAh less than that of the ZenFone Max (M1).

Apart from this, both the smartphones run Android Oreo-based ZenUI 5 out of the box and integrate a couple of handy features such as the PowerMaster battery modes, app auto-start manager, notification management, and controls over app permissions and security.
