Huawei extends Android 9 Pie based EMUI 9 beta to more devices
“The beta is restricted to 20,000 users and will offer a sneak peek at all the new features EMUI 9 has to offer.”
Huawei has today announced that the EMUI 9, an overlay based on the latest Android 9 Pie will be available for more devices. Last week, Huawei had opened up the EMUI 9 beta program for nine devices and now the company has added four new devices to the list. The update will be available for selected Honor devices and this list includes Honor Play, Honor 10GT, and Honor V10. The update comes with a caveat, which means that it’ll be available to only 20,000 (every device has a limit) users.

As expected, the latest MIUI 9.0 heralds with a handful of updates including bug fixes and performance enhancements. The company has tailor-made the UI to suit full view displays. Other novelties include Computer Mode Version 2.0, wireless universal screen projection through Miracast, one-click screen capture, and HuaweiShare. Also baked in is a password manager that links your credentials to fingerprint scanner or facial recognition.
On the performance front, the EMUI 9 comes with GPU Turbo 2.0 which is designed to increase the touch responsiveness by 36 percent. Thanks to the new GPU 2.0 feature, select Honor phones will support gaming titles like Vainglory, Arena of Valor, Rules of Survival, and NBA 2K18. Also present are the navigation gestures offered by Android Pie alongside the AI backed Adaptive Battery feature.
So this is how you can get the latest EMUI 9 on your device. Head over to “Member Service” and click on “Service” and now select “Upgrade Early Adoption.” Lastly, click on the “One-Click Upgrade” and you should be good to go. In the second stage, Huawei is expected to roll out the update to six devices including Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Porsche Edition, Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate RS Porsche Edition.
