Earlier this week, 91mobiles exclusively reported that Samsung is all set to launch its first four rear camera-toting smartphone, the Galaxy A9 (2018) in India in November. Now, the upcoming smartphone has been listed on the brand’s website in India. In addition, a dedicated microsite for the device is also available, which lets interested consumers register for updates related to the Galaxy A9’s launch date and availability in the country.

Samsung hasn’t yet revealed the pricing and availability date for the Galaxy A9 at the moment. However, as our retail chain sources, the smartphone will be landing in the country at some point in early November. The phone was originally launched in Malaysia recently, and is said to cost around Rs 48,000 in the European markets. We should have the handset’s pricing for Indian in the coming days, so stay tuned.

For a recap on the specs, the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) (first impressions) flaunts four primary cameras at the back in the configuration of – 24MP + 10MP + 8MP + 5MP. The quad-camera setup utilises an ultra-wide camera, a telephoto lens, and a depth sensor to produce the best possible images. For selfies, the company has fitted the handset with a 24-megapixel shooter on the front. The device’s camera app is loaded with features like customisable Live Focus, an AI-based scene optimiser, AR emojis, and more.

As far as the other specs are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy A9 flaunts a 6.3-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with minimal bezels. The phone is powered by an octa-core processor of unknown make. In Malaysia, the handset comes in two RAM and storage configurations – 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB. However, in India, the brand seems to be planning to launch only the 6GB RAM model, at least for now.

Software-wise, the Galaxy A9 boots Android Oreo with Samsung’s Experience UI on top. The connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, and A-GPS. A rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is available for security on board. Lastly, a 3,800mAh battery with fast charging support keeps the whole package alive.
