“ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 will be a gaming phone and launch on December 11th in Indonesia, the company has confirmed”
ASUS Indonesia has announced it will be launching the ZenFone Max Pro M2 smartphone on December 11th. Interestingly, the company has mentioned that it will be a gaming smartphone, according to the roughly translated tweet. The ZenFone Max Pro M2 will, of course, be the follow-up to the popular ZenFone Max Pro M1 that has stood its ground against the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

There is not much information available at the moment about the ZenFone Max Pro M2 launch beyond the December 11th date and that the event will be live streamed. Indonesia will be the first market that the handset will be unveiled in globally, at least at this point. This smartphone will compete with the new Redmi Note 6 Pro, though the ASUS model may have a huge edge over it if the recent leaks are anything to go by.
According to a recent leak, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 smartphone with model number ZB631KL will be powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC, a major upgrade over the Snapdragon 636 chip that powers the Redmi Note 6 Pro and ZenFone Max Pro M1. Another highlight of the smartphone is said to be the triple camera setup on the back. Other leaked specifications of the upcoming handset include 4GB of RAM, 13MP selfie camera, 6-inch full-HD+ display, and 64GB and 128GB storage options. The Indian market, however, will get the ZB634KL model, the tipster claims.
There has been no word of the gaming prowess of the smartphone in the ZenFone Max Pro M2 leaks so far. However, ASUS could position it as a gaming handset thanks to the powerful Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with a new performance boosting mode like Huawei’s GPU Turbo and OPPO’s Hyper Boost.
