ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2, ZenFone Max M2 specifications leaked

“The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 specifications leak claim it will have the Snapdragon 660 SoC and triple cameras on the back”

Key specifications of ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 and ZenFone Max M2 smartphones have been leaked by noted tipster Roland Quandt of WinFuture.de. The new leak sheds light on ASUS’ plans to bring triple rear cameras to the affordable smartphone segment. As their names suggest, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 and ZenFone Max M2 will be the successors of the popular ZenFone Max Pro M1 and ZenFone Max M1 smartphones, respectively.

Starting with the ZenFone Max Pro M2 (ZB631KL), the smartphone will come with a 6-inch full-HD+ display, triple camera setup (presumably on the back), Snapdragon 660 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 13MP front camera. It will come in two storage options, 64GB and 128GB. The current-generation ZenFone Max Pro M1 in India comes with Snapdragon 636 processor, three storage and RAM configurations, and dual rear cameras.

Next is the ZenFone Max M2 (ZB633KL), which will reportedly come with a 6-inch full-HD+ display, Snapdragon 636 SoC, dual rear cameras, 13MP selfie camera, and 32GB and 64GB storage variants. The ZenFone Max M1 smartphone that was launched in India recently has a 5.45-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 430 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, a single 13MP rear camera, and a 8MP front camera.

Quandt, however, claims these are the India variants of the two smartphones will bear different model numbers — ZB634KL for the ZenFone Max Pro M2 and ZB632KL for ZenFone Max M2. It should be noted that he had previously said that the ZB634KL variant will come with triple rear cameras and will be launching soon.

In a follow-up tweet, he also says he is not 100 percent sure about the screen size and resolution, storage options, and camera resolutions. However, he is certain of the RAM, processors, and number of cameras (dual and triple), he adds. These leaked specifications make it seem that the ZenFone Max Pro M2 in particular will make for a more attractive option in the hyper-competitive Indian smartphone market, especially against the Redmi Note 6 Pro, which has the same Snapdragon 636 SoC and dual rear cameras on both the front and back.
