Google Pixel 3 camera app showing ‘fatal error’ to some owners
“The Pixel 3 smartphone has run into yet another bug that is not letting users use the camera app”
Google Pixel 3-lineup, which is just over a month old now, is giving a hard time to its users. The flagship handsets from the Android OS-maker have reportedly been facing a lot of issues. While most of the problems reported with the Pixel 3/ Pixel 3XL (review) are software and can be fixed with updates, it irks customers who have spent their hard-earned money on the expensive smartphone.
In the latest turn of events, some Pixel 3 owners are complaining that they can’t load the camera app due to a critical bug. As reported by frustrated customers on Reddit and Google Product Forum, the handset’s camera app is showing a black viewfinder with an error message that reads “The camera driver encountered a fatal error.” Furthermore, the flaw has made the camera unusable with third-party apps such as Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and Snapchat.
Imagine, the best camera smartphone out there not letting you use its camera. The users who have encountered issues say that they have tried the rebooting the Pixel 3, clearing cache of the app, and even performing a factory reset, but the camera bug still pertains. The users ended up requesting a replacement unit from Google, but the company is not yet accepting these requests.
Google is yet to comment on the development, and we’ll update the post when it happens. Meanwhile, here’s a recap of the issues reported in the past with Pixel 3/ Pixel 3 XL: camera bug that won’t let you save photos, speaker distortion issues, memory management glitch, double notches, and text messaging disappearing. It’s worth mentioning that most of the issues/ bug mentioned above has been addressed by Google and fixed with software update.
